Samantha speaks up before you ask — and why that is not the same as always listening for us
Speak-up is the product. Sending your day is a separate yes. Luna has no speaker.

The product promise
Samantha lives in your earbuds and phone app. She hears your day and speaks up when it matters: a commitment you made, a loop you left open, a moment where leaving the room with confidence would help.
Luna, the pendant, is how she reaches you when you are not looking at a screen — a glow and a buzz you feel, not a speaker on the necklace.
The privacy tension people name on calls
If she speaks up without being asked, does that mean Moonshot is always shipping your life to a server?
No. Speaking up is a product behavior. Sending audio or transcript is a separate permission. You can want proactive reminders and still require an explicit yes before anything leaves the device path you chose.
What Luna itself does
Luna has no speaker. It glows and buzzes. The voice is Samantha in your earbud or on your phone. That split is deliberate: the pendant is a quiet reach, not a public announcement.
What we are not claiming
We are not claiming a perfect privacy story. The privacy page lists ads tags on this site, suppliers behind Samantha, and the reality that nearby voices can enter a transcript. Proactivity does not erase those facts.
A useful test
If you only wanted a button you press to record a meeting, this is the wrong product. If you wanted something that notices the peonies you promised to buy and brings it back before the shop closes, that is closer to what we are building.
